As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff.

Within NHS 111 and integrated urgent care there are a number of opportunities to develop both clinically and non-clinically and as our service grows, we are always offering support to those who want to take that next step and develop their career.
All NHS 111 call handlers are required to complete a number of NHS Pathways and NHS 111 service specific courses in order to be a licensed operator working within the live service. To train to be a highly trained advisor you will need to be committed to attend one of our training dates (full paid).
The full-time programmes runs over a four week period whilst the part-time training runs over a six week period.
Our next training dates available are:
- Monday 5th June - Full Time - Monday to Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) for 4 weeks
- Saturday 17th June - Part Time - Sat & Sun (9am-5pm) & Tues, Weds, Thurs (5pm-9.30pm) for 6 weeks
- Monday 3rd July- Full Time - Monday to Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) for 4 weeks
Once you’ve completed your training, you can join the team part time on a variety of shift patterns, to suit your life balance from our extensive shift catalogue, offering contracts from 16 hours per week.
We can also offer early morning or twilight start times, were individuals can choose your fixed shift (you will need to pick up either a Saturday or Sunday shift in addition)
Rates of pay:
- £10.91 per hour– daytime and during training (07:00-23:00)
- £13.56 per hour – contractual night rate (23:00-07:00)
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working and communicating with the public (over the phone or face to face/ or previous Call Centre experience
- Ability to use own initiative as appropriate
- to stay calm in the event of the unexpected and under pressure
- to communicate with a variety of different people and build rapport
- to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability and willingness to undertake competency-based training both initially and as ongoing requirement for the post to meet service requirements.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team
- Ability to use initiative and be aware of limitations
- Ability to deal sensitively with distressing, emotional situations
- Ability to relate to others and adapt approach accordingly
- Ability to work unsocial hours including 24/7 shift work and Bank Holidays
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and over 18 years of age
