Company Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Part-Time Company Accountant to join our team. As a rapidly growing company operating in both the United States and the United Kingdom, we require an accountant with expertise in both US and UK accounting practices. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, regulatory compliance, and insightful financial analysis. This part-time position offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Accounting and Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (UK GAAP). Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment collection, and vendor management.

2. Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial statements required for regulatory compliance and internal decision-making.

3. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with US and UK tax regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the company's financial operations.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

5. Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis, identify trends, and present insights to management. Assist in evaluating financial feasibility for potential business initiatives, cost-saving measures, and investment opportunities.

6. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information.

7. Audit Support: Assist in preparing audit schedules and providing necessary documentation for both US and UK audits. Collaborate with auditors to address any queries and facilitate smooth audit processes.

8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, such as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements and UK Companies Act. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and recommend necessary adjustments to financial policies and procedures.

9. Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, including maintaining employee records, calculating wages, deducting taxes, and managing benefits and compensation-related matters.

10. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and legal teams, to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

1. Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) preferred.

2. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in both US and UK accounting roles, preferably in a corporate environment. Familiarity with US GAAP and UK GAAP is essential.

3. Strong Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and tax regulations in both the US and the UK. Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.

4. Software Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or equivalent. Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting purposes.

5. Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.

6. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, reporting, and data analysis.

7. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

8. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

9. Integrity and Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of integrity and handle sensitive financial information with utmost confidentiality.

10. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing accounting regulations and business requirements, and quickly learn new accounting practices or software as needed.
