Hayfield Parish Council – Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer
Overview
Hayfieldis a village in the High Peak situated in the north of Derbyshire, with a population of around 2,700. The village is 3 miles east of New Mills, 4.5 miles south of Glossop and 10 miles from Buxton.
The Council is made up of 10 Councillors and meets monthly as a full Council with an additional monthly meeting of its Finance Committee.
The appointed Clerk will also act as the Councils Responsible Finance Officer (RFO).
The appointed Clerk will,
- Ensures that the council conducts its business lawfully
- Administers all the council's paperwork
- Ensures that meeting papers are properly prepared and the public is aware of meeting times
- Implements the council's decisions
- Oversees the implementation of projects
- Supervises staff
- Keeps property registers and other legal documents
- Keeps up to date by training /qualification
Requirements
- No formal qualifications are required at appointment although the ideal candidate would have both management and financial experience couple with competence in the use of IT systems. An appointed candidate must attend any training the Council considered essential to the role.
Working arrangements
- The role is part time – 20 hours per week.
- Days and hours worked are flexible. The appointed candidate will attend Council, Committee and Advisory Group meetings which will entail some evening work.
- The role is office based albeit there is some scope for home working.
- IT equipment is provided.
Salary
- LC23 - £15.67 per hour – 20 hours per week
- No home working allowance
