Paramedic in Primary Care

There is now a wide acknowledgement of the benefits an experienced Paramedic can bring to Primary Care; which is to support patients in the community and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.

We are looking for enthusiastic Paramedics who would be interested in joining various local initiatives (South West and North London) within Primary Care. We have a growing number of exciting and varied projects, offering a unique new direction to anyone who is looking for a progressive move from the usual thrill of ‘blue lights’.

Some of the projects we have taken on / have in the pipeline:

  • Network Paramedic service
  • Network Home visiting service
  • Community support response
  • Ad-hoc work in GP practices ( For Paramedics with Advanced care or prescribing skills)

Some roles are dependent on experience with a prerequisite to register on a First Contact Practitioner pathway (FCP), which we will support you through. In the main, you will be working alongside GPs and other Health Care Professionals, carrying out patient assessments, supporting care plans, referring to community teams, updating records, safety netting, vaccinating and managing patients in their right environment.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • HCPC registered Paramedic
  • Acute and non acute patient care experience
  • Own transport
  • Willingness to complete essential development and portfolio work
  • Willingness to commit to shifts once booked

Desirable:

  • 5 years’ post registration experience
  • Urgent and Primary Care HEE level 6 education

NorMed UK is a Paramedic lead service provider, supporting primary care to deliver appropriate, safe and efficient care to patients in the community and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
