The roles
We have a number of positions open in our Southampton office. We are extremely optimistic about the region’s growth this coming year and as such, with greater demand for our services, we are now recruiting immediately for the following roles; Paralegal, Trainee Solicitor, and Solicitor. We are keen to speak with individuals with direct experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Private Client
Residential Conveyancing
Commercial Conveyancing
Family
Litigation
The role would be a good opportunity for the right candidate, to gain a wide level of experience across a number of legal disciplines. The main roles and responsibilities will be to support fee earners in the firm in many aspects of their caseload, including but not limited to:
- General file management including the opening of files, initial correspondence, e.g., Terms of Business, AML documentation;
- Preparation and drafting of routine correspondence, documents, letters, memoranda, attendance notes, other legal documents and precedents under supervision, e.g., producing and submitting Land Registry applications; SDLT submissions, leasehold extensions;
Undertaking research, preparing bundles for court;
Attending client meetings with the relevant Fee Earners, preparing attendance notes, and generally managing the day-to-day administration of various types of legal matters in accordance with the departments’ protocols;
Liaising with clients, prospective new clients, professional colleagues, other parties, and external contacts by telephone, email, and letter, for work-related matters, marketing, and business development;
Administrative aspects of the role may include filing, photocopying, file opening, and closing, archive, account enquiries, updating and maintaining databases;
Follow and comply with agreed processes and procedures to ensure that client confidentiality is not breached;
Other duties as reasonably requested.
Candidate Specification
Paralegals and trainee solicitors are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative and have a responsive and proactive approach to their work. Candidates should be proficient in the following areas:
