Crime Paralegal - Leeds
GT Stewart Solicitors are recruiting full-time paralegals for their Family department. Candidates should aim to demonstrate an interest in the area of law, strong organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure. The successful candidates will be based in the Leeds Office and will commence the role at their earliest convenience.
We are a renowned multiservice law firm committed to access for justice. Our lawyers specialise in criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties and human rights. We are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recommended firm who are currently recruiting a Paralegal to join our Leeds Office.
This is a full-time position with the successful candidate being part of a dynamic and growing team. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to fee earners, to include:
- Providing the highest level of client care in the management of client matters
- Building relationships with internal and external parties
- Ensuring that files are managed effectively, creating letters or documents on the case management system
- Attending clients and completing public funding applications
- Collating and redacting large documents for Court bundles where necessary
- Liaising with the local authorities, Police and medical professionals to request/receive documents. Liaising with Courts and experts
- Attending clients and taking notes
- Other related duties as required

- The confidence to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Keen interest in justice
- Have completed a law degree

Salary and benefits will be negotiable and will reflect experience or potential of the candidate
£20,319.00 with a Living Wage bonus of £936.00 for the financial year 2023/4 as a minimum salary for a 37.5 hourly week.
