The Team
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all of TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing and is seeking bright and capable individuals to join the team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for employment matters and employment disputes involving TikTok.
We are looking for a paralegal to join our team of employment lawyers supporting the EMEA region. You should be a motivated, self-starter who can build strong relationships with our HR team and various other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of the in-house legal team. The role is based in London.
Responsibilities
- Support on the implementation and management of a variety of processes and procedures relating to the EMEA Employment Law team.
- Assist in relation to the set up and management of team trackers.
- Management of the team's central repository of legal advice, templates, training materials.
- Assist with coordination of HR data subject access/deletion requests under GDPR (including coordination of compilation of data; review of documentation; redaction etc).
- Support in relation to employment litigation, such as coordination of disclosure and assistance with hearing preparation (liaising with witnesses; arranging meetings; diarising key dates, etc).
- Assist with management of invoice processing and legal spend.
- Communication with outside counsel, including support in relation to coordination of multi-jurisdictional advice.
- Review of HR policies/procedures and legal drafting (eg contract amendment letters).
- Support on a wide range of tasks such as assistance with setting up team calls, taking minutes and/or the organisation of team events and other team initiatives.
Requirements
- Ideally at least 2-3 years' experience working as a paralegal in a high-growth business.
- Experience of employment law (contentious and non-contentious) preferred.
- Law degree or paralegal qualification preferred.
- Strong technological proficiency and experience with document review technology and workflows.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Great written and verbal communication skills supporting excellent customer service skills.
- A team player who is adaptable and willing to pitch in to support colleagues and the growth of the business.
- Proactive, self-starter with a strong work ethic who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of building effective relationships with people from different disciplines and backgrounds.
- Ability to handle a varied workload and prioritise as needed.
