Oxford Instruments are looking for a paralegal to join the group legal team based in Tubney Woods, Abingdon. As a paralegal you will become integral to the group legal team which provides advice to all Oxford Instruments businesses globally.

To be successful in this role you will have some experience in a similar role drafting, reviewing, negotiating and providing legal and commercial advice with respect to all manner of contracts with support from colleagues.

Some of the things that you will be doing are:
Contracts for the sale of our goods, services and software to customers. NDAs, material transfer agreements, memorandums of understanding, amendment, termination and novation agreements. Contracts for the supply of goods, services and software from suppliers. Agency and distributor agreements. Consultancy agreements. Collaboration agreements. Intercompany agreements.

You will also get involved with :
Risk assessment on contracts and gain approvals from a variety of stakeholders. Conduct risk assessments on contracts and gain approvals and signatures from internal stakeholders. Assist with various compliance activities, such as managing GDPR data subject access requests and updating relevant guidance. Provide support with general corporate, commercial/contract law and compliance advice, and carry out legal research. Ensure standard terms and conditions for all business units for sale and purchase are up to date, loaded correctly onto ERP systems and incorporated into agreements with customers and suppliers. Conduct due diligence on third party representatives. Assist in developing and maintaining precedent documents. Assist with maintaining a database of work on our document management software. Monitor compliance by company employees with established procedures, such as the Delegation of Authority. Assist with preparation of the Group bi-annual litigation report for submission to the Board. Advise on all current ongoing or potential litigation, including details of the claim and case history and realistic outcome. Work with each business across the Group to obtain frequent updates on the status of each claim and provide any necessary legal advice as required. Assist with providing guidance and training on contractual and compliance matters throughout the business, such as on battle of the forms, NDAs, contract law, agency law, and anti-bribery and corruption.

This role would suit an experienced paralegal, someone who is working towards becoming qualified or a newly qualified. Oxford Instruments is committed to supporting professional development and this role will give you access to the most senior lawyers in the organisation on a day to day basis.

This role is a hybrid role with the main location being Tubney Woods. We work 8.00 until 4.30 Monday to Thursday and finish at 1.00 on a Friday so you can start your weekend early.
