Position Duties
- Draft secretary’s certificates, resolutions, written consents, minutes, etc. with minimal supervision.
- Assist with preparation of board of directors’ meetings.
- Review NES’ standard contractual terms with initial guidance and summarizing commercial risk.
- Review vendor contractual terms.
- Conducting legal research on Employment law related issues and other areas of law as may be required.
- Liaising with insurance broker to obtain COIs.
- Managing WCB portals, pulling clearance and letters of good standing
- Recognizing the applicable risk boundaries.
- Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS equivalent.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program preferred but not required.
- At least 1-3 years working as a paralegal, legal assistant, or executive administrative assistant (in-house experience strongly preferred).
- Superb attention to detail, organization, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to proactively assume responsibility and consistently follow through on assignments.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist legal team in meeting demands on accelerated schedules.
- Ability and maturity to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision/guidance.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
