We are looking for a Paralegal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal processes and procedures, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the legal team, including preparing legal documents, conducting research, filing documents, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting legal documents.
- Opening, organizing and maintaining case files.
- Conducting research and gathering information for wills.
- Preparing non-litigious procedures.
- Assisting attorneys in the preparation of legal documents.
- Providing administrative support to attorneys and other legal staff.
- Maintaining contact with clients and witnesses.
- Issue indexes, taxes, request statement of account.
- Preparing legal briefs, minutes, motions, deeds, reports and pleadings.
Requirements
- Ability to write and speak French and English;
- Good customer service
- Meticulous (great attention to detail)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to use Microsoft teams
- Comfortable with technology
- Able to work under stress
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: From $45,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Mont-Royal, QC H3P 3M9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- legal assistant: 1 year (required)
