Job description

Overview:
Fountain Tire is looking for an experienced Paralegal to join the Legal & Real Estate team located in our South Edmonton Corporate Head Office. This position is intended for an individual with a high level of experience, specifically in corporate law.

Salary: $57,000 - $62,000

The Paralegal will lead the corporate governance activities for all Fountain Tire related corporations and to support the Real Estate Team in the production and tracking of property lease related materials.

Corporate Services
  • Lead partnership transactional documents, including preparation of corporate documents, signing, reporting and all related communications.
  • Oversee all necessary corporate filings with Corporate Registries are complete.
  • Oversee supply of Shelf Companies.
  • Oversee annual corporate resolutions and dividends, including distribution, tracking and related communications.
Real Estate
  • Manage and lead monthly Real Estate meetings.
  • Manage tracking of all lease renewal deadlines, including monthly expiry audit, communications with stakeholders.
  • Preparation of real estate related documents and manage updating of all real estate lease records.
  • Provide back-up for Property Manager and work with Legal team member for Landlord certificates of insurance.
Miscellaneous
  • Manage annual audit inquiries, including preparation and communications.
  • Act as Administrator for Contract Register (Agiloft) and manage contract submissions.
  • Provide back-up for Legal team member for miscellaneous certificates of insurance.
  • Manage and maintain control lists for use by Legal Team and Fountain Tire associates.
  • Manage bank compliance reporting.
  • Manage CASL database and all related policies/processes.
The necessary experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required in the role:
  • Knowledge of corporate governance requirements.
  • Strong ability to interpret property leases.
  • Comfortable handling multiple deadlines
  • Proven analytical abilities/problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Decision making and problem resolution skills
