Paralegal – Edwin James IP
Summary
Edwin James requires a paralegal to join their fast-growing team in the area of IP law.
The new Paralegal role will be responsible for identifying and developing new types of IP protection within the business, which helps artists protect their IP rights throughout the world.
We are a strong advocate for artists and aim to help them navigate issues arising from protection of their IP.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days in a newly built office in Kingston Upon Thames - 145 London
Road. Work from Home on the other days.
9 am - 5 pm
Job Description
- Assisting the existing team with onboarding new clients and obtaining, verifying and identifying key information that will be later used in court.
- Filing for copyright certificates for new and existing clients.
- Help to file trademark applications via US legal attorneys.
- Engaging with the US Copyrights Office and the Patent and Trademark Office.
- Finding relevant attorneys that can carry out ad hoc work as needed by our clients. e.g. will writing.
- Liaising with attorneys to complete work required by our clients.
- Sending cease and desist notices to various individuals, companies and online platforms that are infringing on our client's work.
- Developing the processes and databases required to consistently deliver these new types of activities in the area of IP protection.
Requirements
- LLB and LPC
- 1 years’ experience in a Litigation department
- Excellent IT skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and work tight deadlines and manage a workload
- Strong client service orientation
Salary
£25,000 - £30,000 a year dpending on experience
