Paralegal – Small Claims - Liverpool
We are looking to attract a Paralegal to join DWF, an award-winning legal business.
Within the motor small claims team here at DWF, we deal with the defence of a wide range of claims deriving from road traffic accidents, as a result of which someone has incurred a loss. Within the small claims, we mainly deal with small claims as the name suggests, however we also deal with stage 3 MOJ portal claims and Infant approval cases.
In order to be placed within the small claims track and hence be allocated to a paralegal within our small claims team, this loss must be valued at £10,000.00 or less and must not include a personal injury claim for more than £1,000.00.
These are the main requirements necessary the claim to be allocated to the small claims track however, other issues may mean that the claim is not suitable for the small claims track even if the above criteria is satisfied, for example the complexity of the case or the need for expert evidence. We deal with mainly liability disputed matters however occasionally liability will be admitted and the only ongoing dispute will be with regards to quantum. As a Paralegal, you will progress Motor Insurance Claims (Defendant) cases to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients ensuring high levels of service delivery both internally and externally whilst providing and maintaining management information under the terms of the client service level agreement. The right person must have good attention to detail and the ability to handle a busy caseload. For the more senior Paralegal roles, team-leading experience will be required.
