Be Part of our team
Customer Experience is at the heart of everything that we do. As a team we assess individual’s circumstances, supporting our customer to overcome problems which have led to customer’s account being in arrears.
You’ll be exceptional in the moments that matter; supporting our customers to find solutions and progressing the secured debt recovery process on behalf of our clients including debt recovery associated with consumer, commercial or mortgage repossession environments.
What will your day look like?
- Ensuring all relevant processes are followed with matters followed up in a timely manner in line with client service levels and court processes.
- Compile witness statements or completion of court documentation as required as part of the recovery process.
- Ensure all work undertaken is in line with internal and client service level agreements.
- Liaise with external third party companies, agents or other representing parties as required.
- Treat all customers fairly, professionally and act within legislation, compliance and codes of practice.
- Accept and request guidance tuition and training on the methodology of work, utilisation of computer systems and other assistance at work.
- In addition to the above, the Paralegal may be required to carry out any other reasonable request as required by the Team Leader/Head of Department.
Ascent’s Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s including a minimum C grade in English and Maths
- Computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs
- Has a strong attention to detail
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Sound knowledge of law and legal System
- Strong organisational skills
- Familiar with electronic document management and filing systems
- High level of discretion with confidential matters
Desirable
- Law degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of CPR Rules
- Experience of working for financial services’ businesses in a legal environment.
- Experience of working in the legal industry and/or in-house with a top financial services organisation.

As part of the Ascent on-boarding process all successful applicants are required to complete the group’s employment screening process. *Training will be conducted in the Manchester office for a 12 week period. Following successful completion of training, you will be then be considered for our Hybrid working model.

Salary: Up to £22,500.00 per year
