We are looking for a

Paralegal (12 Month – FTC)


Location: Milton Keynes/London Reporting to: Legal Counsel


The role requires 1 day in our Milton Keynes office, 1 day in our London office and the other days will be homebased.


The role

We are looking to appoint a new Paralegal, primarily to assist in the provision of quality, accurate and relevant advice on a spectrum of legal matters that apply to our business, services and product offerings. This will be a varied and fast-paced role in an exciting and ever-evolving business and industry that is ideal for someone who is as happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved in managing individual matters, as they are assisting the rest of the team in the implementation of business-wide frameworks.


A typical week as a Paralegal might involve


  • Conducting the legal review of a range of third-party supplier contracts, escalating where necessary, and coordinating with the Legal Counsels, Deputy Data Protection Officer, Chief Information Security Officer and Procurement Manager.
  • Managing the legal inbox, dealing with all manner of legal queries from the business, including those from the Fraud, Vetting, Sales and Customer Experience Teams.
  • Assisting with the review of customer contracts and customer queries.
  • Assisting with the development and updating of templates.
  • Generally assisting or covering the Data Protection as well as Risk and Compliance Teams.
  • Assisting on the delivery of a brand protection strategy and assisting with various intellectual property reviews.
  • Working with colleagues to identify and develop non-litigious solutions to problems.
  • Assisting on the general implementation of Rightmove’s legal strategy.

We’re looking for someone who can:


  • Draft and/or review various commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Assist Legal Counsel with the management of legal matters affecting the company and its business activities, including assisting the business in ensuring the setting up and adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice to stakeholders and other members of staff on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business and our products and services.
  • Proactively identify situations that may pose significant legal risk and guide management in the development / reviewing / updating of relevant policies, procedures and business practices.
  • Support with the launch of new products to ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company
  • Assist with the design and delivery legal training to the business.
  • Accurately assess Data Protection risks


We would love someone to have any of the following:


  • Previous in-house experience.
  • Experience at a reputable firm or reputable inhouse company.
  • A good educational background and ideally a candidate who has completed the LPC.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional drafting skills and experience with contract negotiation.
  • A willingness to learn and take on a challenge.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A can-do attitude and a good work ethic.
  • Team player, but also happy to work autonomously.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the business.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand.
  • Positively receive training and constructive instruction.
