Job Description & Qualifications

Classification:

• Non-Exempt Full-Time
• 8 hours

Job Summary:

This position supports a student with special needs in diverse types of settings and assists teachers to
promote the student’s learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children and youth who are Deaf or h/h
• Proficient in ASL and written English
• Knowledgeable of bilingual education
• Ability to work in a team
• Knowledge and/or experience working with special needs students

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Work one-on-one with students with special needs individually and in small and large group

• Perform assigned classroom duties including: support students in all subject areas; prepare

• Perform assigned lunch, recess, and bus duties
• Perform assigned clerical duties: such as assist in collecting data of student progress
• Attend professional development trainings
