Job Title: Painter
Location: Sedbergh School
Responsible to: Clerk of Works
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: £23,795 per annum
Sedbergh School has an exciting opportunity for a Painter to join the Maintenance Team.
Reporting to and working with the Clerk of Works, the successful candidate will either be “time served” or have the ability to demonstrate experience of painting and decorating to a high standard.
Responsibilities
The Painter will work as part of a team employed to repair and refurbish the School Buildings on both sites throughout the year. They will have the ability to understand programmes and planning and be able to meet deadlines, whilst working within the standards required by the School.
Key aspects of the role
· To carry out decorations and all associated repairs works, such as making good of ceilings, walls, floors, woodwork, fittings etc. (excluding electrical items).
· To ensure that all work is undertaken to the correct standard and completed in accordance with all relevant codes of practice, regulations and general health and safety requirements.
· To decorate to a high standard including correct preparation, product selection and application.
· To have the ability to work unsupervised, whilst being creative and using initiative.
This is a permanent, full time position. Details about this vacancy are as follows:
· 40 hours per week
· Working days: Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm
· Starting Salary: Up to £23,795 dependent upon skills and experience
