An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paint Sprayer & Preparation Technician to join our growing friendly team, at Niftylift.The role is based at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Hoyland, Barnsley.

The Paint Sprayer & Preparation Technician Role requires a dynamic team player with proven experience, skills and knowledge in paint preparation. The role requires operating to high quality workmanship standards within a world class manufacturing team and facility.

Responsibilities and Duties*
Hands on role shot blasting, fully preparing, wet spraying and a range of chassis and ancillary components/materials.

Working Hours & Salary:*
Day ShiftHours will be 07.30 - 16.30 Monday – Thursday & Friday 07:30 – 13.00 (with regular structured overtime).
Night Shift: Hours will be 20:00 – 06:00 Monday – Thursday (with regular structured overtime).

Guaranteed basic starting salary £11.74 x 40 hours per week plus guaranteed minimum £40 per week bonus - £26,499.20 plus structured overtime paid at premium rates outlined below:
Level A - Overtime paid at premium rate of £17.61 per hour (i.e. x 1.5).
Level B – Overtime paid at premium rate of £23.48 per hour (i.e. x 2.0).
Night shift Premium paid at x1.33 if applicable.
Plus additional monthly bonus aligned to business performance that equates to total bonus payments of £280 - £350 per month on average (for reference only).

Schedule:*

  • Day shift 8.5 hour Monday to Thursday, 6 hour Friday
  • Night Shift 10 hours Monday- Thursday
  • Overtime

Experience:*

  • Experience in spraying to understand the effects of poor preparation and/or poor paint application can have in terms of inconsistent film thickness, gloss levels, orange peel appearance & colour variations
  • An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically Isocyanates & flammable liquids.Experienced in using & maintaining air fed respiratory equipment;
  • Experience of operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment;
  • Welding knowledge would be an added advantage, but not essential;
  • Shot blasting experience preferred;
  • Experience of wet painting primer and gloss using airless, air assisted and hvlp systems, primer and gloss paints (2 pack systems). Preferably within manufacturing or car industry;
  • Preferably of both industrial spray painting and car re-finishing.
