Job Title: Paediatric Rotational Physiotherapist
Grade: Band 6

Ward/Dept: Paediatric Therapies
Hours: Full time – Up to 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 8.30-16.30pm
Pay Rates – Day: £24.38
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Therapy team at Oxford Children’s Hospital. The Paediatric Therapies department is a diverse, friendly, and enthusiastic team.
We are looking for a highly motivated Physiotherapist with the ability to work with a significant degree of professional autonomy to join our Band 6 Rotation. The candidate will be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of Physiotherapy skill and expertise and be expected to use sound clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist assessment and treatment of Paediatric patients.
The post holder will participate in rotations across a variety of paediatric specialties covering cystic fibrosis, acute respiratory, Paediatric ICU, trauma and elective orthopaedics, oncology and MSK outpatients. There are also opportunities to gain exposure to acute neurology, neuro-rehab and neonates.

The Responsibilities

- To carry a mixed paediatric caseload across the following clinical areas:
Acute Respiratory to include Paediatric critical care, medical/surgical wards, and neonatal unit.
Cystic Fibrosis
Oncology/ Haematology
Elective Orthopaedics
Rehabilitation
- To assess, treat and delegate the changing workload within specialist and wider Paediatric caseload.
- To formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner
- To sustain an active role in service development
- Assist in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of Band 5 physiotherapists, and physiotherapy students.
- To support the integration of therapy services
To be successful in applying for this role you will need:
Degree level qualification in Physiotherapy
To be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
NHS experience
Paediatric experience
