Fixed Term for 12 months due to maternity leave cover
To provide a specialised psychological service to patients within the Paediatric Critical Care Service and their families, and carers.
The post holder will join an established critical care and major trauma psychology team. The post will work within the Paediatric Critical Care multi-disciplinary team. This role includes direct work with patients and their families, as well as consulting with the team. The post will compliment the already established PCCU internal staff wellbeing service. This post offers a great opportunity for developing a service. As a pilot post, a key part of the role will be to work with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to create a business case for continued funding.
It is essential for this post to hold a Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996), to be a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist - Clinical or Counselling. Knowledge and experience of applying psychology in medical settings is also essential.
This is an exciting time to join Cardiff & Vale UHB as there is a growing Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology Specialty. There is an active professional network for practitioner psychologists in South Wales and you would be able to develop your professional, supervisory and clinical skills via CPD opportunities.
