Job description
We are looking for a flow wrap operative to join our busy packing team at our bakery in Kenn, near Clevedon, North Somerset. No experience is necessary as training will be given although experience in operating flow wrap machinery and an understanding of food manufacturing process is an asset. Hourly rate will be adjusted upwards to reflect relevant experience.You will be operating machinery, specifically Ilapak and Merlin Blue Flow wraps and ensuring all food products are packed in line with the Company’s Food Safety and Quality standards.About Us:Pullins Bakery, is a leading independent family bakery based in North Somerset, with 97 years of history making award winning bread, cakes and bakes.We are extremely proud of our heritage and our team, who work together to make, bake and dispatch our innovative and indulgent treats for customers within the travel, fine food, leisure and coffee shop sectors.We are passionate about baking and pride ourselves in the quality and service we give to our customers. We will consider Part Time if necessary.Shifts Available:7am - 3pm/ finish (Monday - Friday)9am - 5pm/finish (Sunday - Thursday)Note: These shift times are not absolute. Depending on work load some days may run over the time stated.Monday to Friday.About You:You have common sense and a can-do attitudeYou are a great communicator and enjoy working as part of a teamYou thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressureYou naturally work to high standards and are organised and detailed with paperworkYou follow food safety standards and procedures set by the companyYou have a healthy track record of attendance and a positive and motivated approach to workResponsibilities and Duties·:You will be trained or already be experienced in the following:Carrying out start up checksSetting up machinery according to documented product instructions and ensuring film and labelling is correctControlling and adjusting speeds and settings as requiredChecking all products for quality issuesCarrying out metal detection checksAccurately complete required paperwork, along with following specific processesEnsure finished products are packed as per the product specPreparing and packing in to boxesLiaising with the bakery and dispatch teamsOrganising and prioritising according to business needsEnsuring work stations and floor areas are clean and sanitized and space is tidy.Maintain a good working atmosphere in the teamMinimise and report any waste of packaging/products.Wear all PPE provided in the correct manner, and to ensure that hand washing and personal food safety rules are followed.What will you get in return?£10.50 per hour upwards depending on experiencePermanent position after a 3 month probation period.Free Tea, Coffee & Cake whilst on siteA generous staff discount scheme on products28 days holiday per annum / pro rata for part timeGood to know..
