The Role and Teams
The main purpose of the Packing Palletiser (Grade3) is to Palletise our products onto finished goods pallets and assist the team to deliver the daily production targets to an agreed standard.
£11.43 per hour* + Bonus + Benefits*includes temporary cost of living allowance.
- Inspect each box to ensure correct labelling, sealing and BB / box traceability to required quality standards
- Palletise the correct number of boxes / crates onto the pallet, using the correct pallet configuration to ensure safe transportation and space optimisation
- Palletise Meals and Sweets lines at the required speeds.
- Ensure crates are correctly supplied to packers, clean and ready for use
- At changeovers, set up the labeller for the next product, ensuring the product code, name and weight on the box are matching the packed product.
- At changeovers, set up the date printer to the next product packed, ensuring the date on the box matches the packed product.
- General maintenance and cleaning of printers, labels and tapers (replace ribbons, labels, tape)
- Move pallets to the Booking Out area / Blast
- Undertake ‘Level 2 Food Safety’ training: a pass level must be obtained
- Inform the person running the area if you think there is a potential issue with the quality of the product
- Packed boxes must be right first time. Ensure you carry out tasks to the required standard
- Changeovers- ensure that all old materials / products are removed from the line and replaced with the correct materials for the new product
Ensure any damaged pallets are moved to the correct location
- Follow correct personal hygiene procedures (e.g. changing procedure, hand washing procedures)
- Operate to a clean (and tidy) as you go policy
- Carry out efficient and effective clean downs when changing over products
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Follow safe working practices
- Assist if required with risk assessments
- Report any accidents or dangerous occurrences
- Raise Safety Events
- Help the business be environmentally friendly:
- by ensuring that waste is segregated appropriately so it can be sent to the correct point of disposal/recycling
- by keeping waste to a minimum (e.g. making products right first time)
- Have a can do attitude; try to learn other tasks in the department if required
- Promote good team work – help others. “It’s not my job” does not promote good team work
- Have a desire to help the team meet the department targets
