Watson Gym Equipment
Full Time Frome, England 12 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Watson Gym Equipment is a highly successful gym equipment manufacturer that is growing exponentially year to year. We are humbled by our ability to continue thriving in spite of the issues the world has faced and due to this constant growth we are looking to hire multiple packers in our HQ in Frome, Somerset. The positions are full time and permanent and we are looking for people that want a long term career with the Watson family.

We are hiring a packer for our dispatch team who will specialise in preparing orders of Gym Equipment for Shipping all over the world.

This will involve moving gym equipment onto pallets, securing, crating in when needed and shrink wrapping, packing up any small orders such as bars and accessories, loading containers and trucks and palleting dumbbells. You must be logically minded, some orders will require multiple pallets, and it is your job to make sure the equipment is safe for transport whilst trying to condense orders into as few pallets/parcels as possible. You must be independently motivated, if you have something missing from an order you need to liaise with the correct department to get what you need.

Experience:

We want someone who is confident in using power tools, you will either have had experience doing projects at home or in work. The role will require you to cut down plywood to create pallets and to create structures within pallets in order to fit more inside as well as custom making boxes when needed.

  • Forklift license/certificate (advantageous not imperative)
  • Previous Experience in a packing environment (advantageous not imperative)
  • Familiar with using power tools/Carpentry (IMPERATIVE)

Skills and attributes:

  • Physically fit and strong, this role will be physically demanding
  • Used to working to tight deadlines
  • Independently motivated
  • Forward thinking
  • Proactive
  • Enviable work ethic
  • Interest in strength training

In return for your skill and passion you’ll get:

  • Modern offices based in beautiful rural location
  • On site Gym free for Staff
  • Free parking on site
  • Holiday entitlement at 28 days a year (this includes the annual UK Bank Holidays) rising to 33 days after 2 years of service.
  • Ample opportunity for overtime available
  • Company meals and nights out

Working Hours:

8am-5pm (Mon-Thurs)

8am-3:45pm (Friday)

****PLEASE READ: THIS IS NOT A 'TRADITIONAL' PACKING JOB. PACKING GYM EQUIPMENT REQUIRES MOVING LARGE EQUIPMENT, UNASSEMBLING GYM EQUIPMENT, AND CONFIDENCE USING POWER TOOLS/WORKING WITH WOOD. THE EXERTION REQUIRED WOULD BE SIMILAR TO BEING A LABOURER ON SITE. IT IS A VERY DIFFERENT ROLE FROM PICKING AND PACKING SMALL ITEMS SO PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN APPLYING.****

If you are interested in working for one of the World’s leading gym equipment manufacturers and becoming part of a rapidly growing company please get in touch NOW!
