Quest Employment is recruiting for Machine Operative roles on a temporary-ongoing basis based in the Fengate area of Peterborough. To be considered for the Machine Operative role all candidates must be flexible within reason, reliable, and available for an immediate start where required. Candidates must have a basic to a good level of English speaking, reading, and writing. As a Machine Operative, you will be flexible in assignments as positions may vary from time to time which may include packing, sorting, picking, dispatch, labelling, boxing, and palletising. A certain level of dexterity is required and will be assessed where needed.

Our Client is an international manufacturer and distributor of coffee products. They are a well-established, growing company with many opportunities in a site based in the Fengate area of Peterborough. Shifts are Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 Rotating

Salary Breakdown

• Base Rate - £10.42 per hour
• Tx¼ over core hours Monday – Friday - £13.03 per hour
• Tx½ after core hours Saturday & Sunday - £15.63 per hour
• Backshift from - 18:00 - 22:00 shift allowance from base rate £1.43 = £11.85 per hour
• Night shift From 22:00 - 06:00 shift allowance from base rate £2.85 = £13.27 per hour

Day to day of the role:

• Manage the operation of the Packing Machine and the activity of the Packing Operative
• Ensure activities conform to Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure all products and raw materials are clearly labelled and recorded for traceability purposes
• Operative on a clean as you go basis
• Complete all paperwork

Required skills:

• Standing or walking for long periods (depending on shifts)
• Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, crouching, and/or stretching
• Pushing and pulling up to 15kg in weight / Lifting and moving products up to 15kg
• Manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Experience working in a production environment is preferred but not essential
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Accuracy and attention to detail
