About us

Sharpak Bridgwater manufactures plastic packaging for the food industry. The use of food packaging is essential for optimising food quality and preservation. Plastic food packaging extends the shelf-life of food, reduces food colour change and wastage, preserves the food’s nutrient content and prevents harmful food borne illnesses.

We recycle all plastic waste onsite and reuse it in our manufacturing process. Sharpak Bridgwater is also proud to be part of Prevent Ocean Plastic and Operation Clean Sweep.

The Role

We are expanding our team and have a fantastic opportunity to come and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Bridgwater.

In the Packing Inspector role you will work as part of a larger team and will pack plastic trays as they are made through our thermoforming machines.

You will also be required to undertake quality control on the product before packing. This means that as the products are made, you will check the product is made to correct specification as well as for damage and contaminants before packing.

In this role you will be working Monday to Friday with a pay rate of £11.73 per hour.

You will work on a 3-week rotating shift pattern, consisting of nights (10pm – 6am), afternoons (2pm – 10pm) and mornings (6am – 2pm). These are 8 hour shifts with a 40-minute paid break per shift.

You will not be required to work weekends or bank holidays, however regular overtime is available paid at an enhanced rate (time and a half).
