Overall summary and purpose of the role

Assisting in the packing department

Health & Safety Responsibilities

· To comply with all Sappi Rockwell Solutions Policies and procedures

· Report all near misses, Incidents and Spillages immediately

Tasks / Duties

• Recording weight on production sheet when the forklift driver weighs them.

• Assisting the Operator when he requires assistance.

• General housekeeping duties.

• Ensuring Health and Safety.

• Checking packaging materials

• Monitoring the quality of packages

• Disposing defective items

• To prepare shippable items by proper packaging, sealing, labeling, and preparing the item for transportation.
• Checking packaging materials
• Monitoring the quality of packages
• Disposing defective items
• Observe all business guidelines about packaging.
• Recognize and dispose of defective items.
• Correctly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
• Pack, weigh, and label made items for shipment or storage.
• Propose modifications in process or packaging sizes and materials

Skills and Experience Required to undertake the job

Forklift licence is essential for this role.

Full training given at the commencement of employment. Knowledge in manufacturing or relevant field is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £10.42-£11.00 per hour
