Brewpoint is a brand new 30000 hl/annum state of the art brewery with bar, restaurant and visitors centre on the edge of Bedford.
We are looking for a Packaging Operator to join our small team responsible for operating the packaging production processes to the required safety, quality & efficiency standards that maintain a safe, productive environment producing the best quality beer.
Naturally, you will spend a great deal of time on the production floor but that’s not to say the role won’t involve many different tasks.
YOU WILL NEED TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT AS THIS ROLE INVOLVES BEING ON YOUR FEET ALL DAY AND HEAVY LIFTING.
Key Responsibilities:
Aside from the day to day packaging routine there will be many other duties to get involved with.
- Start-up, operation and shutdown of all packaging equipment
- Completion of all administrative and systems work to allow despatch of finished goods, including trailer plan updates, HMRC, Nav, delivery notes, bar orders, etc.
- Completion of all procedures, including loading and off-loading, for both receipt and despatch of goods from the brewery and warehouse
- Ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy, including assisting brewers with unloading/ loading
- Working with the Brewery Engineer & Lead Brewer on problem solving
- Evaluating in-process and packaged beer to ensure they meet the specific quality, including ERP data entry
- Completing OH&S, quality, and batch management paperwork for each operation
- Assist in microbrewery operations – brewing, packaging, cleaning
- Mentoring other members of the team to fulfil training & development plans
- Promoting a ‘safety first’ working environment and challenging ways of work to improve
What we are looking for:
- A passion for the Brewing industry and a love for Beer!
- Manufacturing experience with a minimum 6 months in a brewery, food or drinks environment
- A forklift license would be a major advantage
- Hands-on practical approach. Engineering and mechanical skills will be useful to maintain, fix and install equipment
- A flexible work ethic! You will be required to work shifts and working hours will change subject to schedules and production issues
- Computer literacy and technological skills as you will undertake ongoing record keeping
