Job description
- Business Travel Mandatory to support North American sites.
- 35-40% Launch Travel / 10-20% Non-Launch Travel
- Lead and Manage Packaging Engineering Team (US & Mexico)
- Reinforce understanding of the packaging role within the product development teams
- Packaging Engineering Leader to support programs at North American manufacturing sites
- Work with supply chain program managers, industrial engineering, and operations to provide operating requirements for returnable & expendable packaging for Inbound Supplier Purchase Parts
- Work with packaging suppliers/vendors on Interplant Packaging between Inteva Plant and Supplier Locations as applicable
- Work with Customer packaging engineers on Outbound Packaging
- Review/Approve Supplier proposed packaging for operations (pallet to part presentation rack, part protection, & ergonomics with minimized handling)
- Review/Approve Customer proposed packaging for conformance to optimization, part protection, & ergonomics
- Perform packaging studies / cost analysis, including business case analysis for returnable vs. expendable.
- Apply Lessons Learned to the assigned PDT on packaging concepts
- Provide quote guidance for new business pursuit activities
- Coordinate with PC&L team for freight estimates for business case analysis
- Obtain Inteva plant approval for packaging
- Maintain packaging team cost and design documents
- Support plant with root cause analysis of packaging issues and the “plan for every part” submissions
- Attend and support the Lead Manufacturing Engineers at Product Development Team meetings
- Audit progress on all programs to ensure deliverables are being met throughout the program
