This is an opportunity to work within the Dorset Out of Hours Service, which has strong links with NHS111, Single Point of Access and Dorset District nurses. The role involves supporting our clinicians during the evenings, weekends, and overnights. You will be responsible for allocating resources based on patient needs while taking into consideration service demand. You will be joining a brilliant team who are hard working, proactive and patient focused . This role is varied, and no shift is the same, you will need to have brilliant decision-making skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with both patients and healthcare professionals. There is an opportunity for career development should this be something you are interested in. These are overnight shifts, which will attract an unsocial enhancement in addition to the basic salary. This can be discussed further at interview. Once training and consolidation has been completed, there will be an opportunity to work from home in this role.
Out of Hours Dispatcher (overnight)
This is an overnight post of 19.5 hours ( 3 x 6.5 hour shifts ) over a two week rota.
To help meet the Trust’s objectives by providing high performance dispatching of Out of Hours service resources so delivering:
Response Time Reliability
Customer Satisfaction
Economic Efficiency
Respond to requests for service from the general public, healthcare professionals and emergency services. To manage and initiate deployment/redeployment of Out of Hours service resources in accordance with the National Quality Standards.
Responsible for the efficient use of information communication technology equipment, leading to the effective and efficient management of Out of Hours resources in accordance with the needs of the Trust.
