Salary: Up to £27,000
The Back of House Assistant will ensure the successful smooth operation of all catering areas at the Inner Temple. They will assist the Back of House Manager with all parts of their role, including the management of maintenance contracts, the successful cellar operation and keeping an up to date record of all health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for duties within the back of house areas, including the Kitchen, Linen room and goods-in areas.
- To ensure that all legislative, Government and Searcys guidelines are up to date and adhered to at all times.
- To accept and unload deliveries for the kitchen, checking in goods against invoices and temperature control, decanting and storing them correctly.
- To ensure the monthly stock take of equipment and chemicals is carried out.
- To assist with the preparation of all crockery, glass, cutlery and light equipment for all areas and all events.
- To place orders and deliver stock to the various departments.
- To support the Cellar Manager in the effective management of the cellar.
- Previous experience working in a Back of House environment.
- Proven track record of maintaining 5* food hygiene ratings.
- Valid Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (desirable).
- Valid Level 2 Health & Safety Certificate (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Takes initiative.
- Be flexible with working hours, including evenings, bank holidays and weekends.
- Demonstrates a high level of organisation and time keeping.
- English Language - Native or Bilingual.
