You’ll take up this pivotal role to ensure that our databases maintain a highly available and consistent service.

You’re an Oracle DBA, with 3 years’ experience working with on premise infrastructure and Oracle Cloud. You’ll work closely with a Senior DBA to ensure the performance, integrity and security of our databases. You find that we’re a supportive, friendly and collaborative team that’s always open to new ideas.

This role will be based at our office in Snodland, Kent with hybrid working. More office presence will be required during the first 4-6 months as you complete your induction.

This role has great career progression prospects, with the opportunity to contribute to delivering a number of highly strategic projects – such as cloud migration, artificial intelligence implementation and the creation of data lakes.

What will you mainly deliver?

  • Manage Oracle databases environments from development environments to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
  • Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability and security.
  • Apply best practice to ensure deployment and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Independently analyse, solve and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and production issue resolution.
  • Provide out of hours support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

What do you bring to the role?

  • This is a Hybrid role with 1-2 days per week required in the office. There is also the requirement to be available out of hours. Therefore, you'll need to live within a commutable distance to our office in Snodland, Kent.
  • Solid Oracle Database Administration experience
  • Experienced in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experienced in backups, restores and recovery models
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for and Oracle.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (Azure, OCI, GCP and/or AWS) would be advantageous.
  • You must have permission to work in the UK to start employment with us.
