We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Band 7 Optometrist who shares our commitment to delivering world class care to provide a safe and efficient medical contact lens service.
You will be able Diagnosis and management of early keratoconus, with appropriate follow-up and recommendation for cross-linking where indicated.
You will have proven proficiency in performing the full range of core optometry services. This will include adult refractions, low vision assessments and specialist medical contact lens management, corneal topography, colour vision assessment and visual assessment of patients attending the clinic.
You will experience in medical contact lenses and also have the passion and willingness to develop the service.
We provide opportunities to develop your knowledge by attending courses and meetings as well as in-depth opportunities for in house training in Ophthalmology. We have a proactive approach to teaching and research opportunities.
You will work closely with the Corneal consultant and Head of service to provide excellent streamlined high quality care for patients attending the hospital with corneal related concerns.
- Undertake contact lens clinics where you will be providing specialist advice on the type of contact lens and advice for maintaining health contact lens wear.
- You will be responsible for procuring and stock managements of contact lenses.
- There will also be an element of handling patient queries and concerns.
- Undertake specialist led clinics within the corneal service.
