Position Summary
This position is suited for an individual looking for a position in an I.S. operations & support role. You will be working in a small I.S. group and responsible for tasks covering a broad range of areas from systems to user support in 6 different locations in Alberta and BC.
The role will involve:
- Regularly working on tasks that are varied & complex
- Frequently adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet specialized needs
- Performing broad and/or focused assignments
- The typical hours for this role is 8-4:30 Monday to Friday. However, some weekend and evening work will be required
- Travel may be required from time to time to the various branch offices
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor computing systems & peripheral devices ranging from laptop or desktop computers to larger server systems.
- Installation of hardware & software
- Maintain appropriate desktop & security standards
- Provide end-user support for corporate computing systems ranging from local operating systems to server-based business applications. The end-user environment includes:
- Microsoft Windows 10 operating system
- Microsoft Office productivity suite
- Citrix Workspace environment
- o Infor Visual Manufacturing ERP
- Microsoft SQL applications
- Maintaining and executing Company policies and procedures to ensure that Chamco’s IT environment is secure and up time for the users is maximized.
- Supporting the company’s phone communications, building securities systems and other IT related responsibilities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
The successful candidate for this role will have some combination of the following qualifications:
- Optimally, a 2-year technical diploma, or equivalent
- CompTIA A+ Certification desired, not required
- 2-3 years working experience in an I.S. support role
- Great communication skills
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Reporting and documentation skills
- Good time management skills
- Clear understanding of network & security concepts
- Experience with Infor Visual Manufacturing ERP desired
- Familiarity with Citrix Workspace, Microsoft SQL Databases, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Office suite
