We’re looking for a Operative to join our Utilities, Bournemouth Water team no days are the same. Within this role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring that all work is carried out safely and to programme.
Kier Utilities brings the built environment to life, keeping people and businesses connected. In this role, you will be working on our South West Water contract, where we work on repairs and maintenance services to provide reliable, efficient, and high-quality drinking water and wastewater services.
In the role of Operative, you will work closely in a team and other colleagues to work on schemes including mains laying, pressure management, district metering and large and complex mains repairs.
Location: Based from our Bournemouth depot
Contract: Permanent – Full time
Responsibilities
As a Operative for the Bournemouth Water team your day-to-day will include:
- You will carry out general work as instructed by the Team Leader and/or FLM and operate and maintain at least two pieces of plant, drive vans, pickup trucks
- Ensure full and correct use of vehicles, plant and materials, keeping wastage to a minimum and carry out any ad-hoc duties that may occur as instructed by the management team or team leader / ganger.
- You will be responsible for personal and site safety, including operating to standards of safety, compliance and competence required by own professional qualifications.
Who are we looking for?
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous Utilities experience is beneficial.
- It would also be beneficial to hold relevant CSCS/ CPSC & NRSWA cards, along with utility experience, but not essential as we will provide full training and development
