THE ROLE

We're seeking enthusiastic and skilled people to join our Operations team in Hull. The position is responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, rectification of faults, problem solving and continuous improvement of equipment and processes to ensure production demands are met.

The role plays a key part in identifying and eliminating loss and waste as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve availability and reliability.

The position reports directly to a Shift Team Leader.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Carrying out plant-related routine duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level
  • Performs fault diagnosis and reactive maintenance as well as proactive monitoring of the process performance trends to spot errors or anomalies and address them before they affect production
  • Interrogates and fault finds process and equipment issues by interrogation of Plant DCS and Process Control Systems, and liaises with engineering team for in depth troubleshooting
  • Using a Distributed Control System (DCS) system you will be required to start, stop and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment plant and more

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCES

We are open to considering applicants from a range of different industry backgrounds, it's not essential to have prior experience in the Biomass or Waste-to-Energy fields.

We would however expect suitable applicants to have prior experiences of at least some of the following;

  • Recognised Engineering or Operational qualification, either apprenticeship, C&G, NVQ3, ONC or HNC
  • Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legal requirements
  • Familiarity with Permit-to-Work systems
  • Ability to work a full shift system with flexibility to provide support as needed to ensure the safe operation of the Plant
