Job description
The Institute for Creative Cultures (ICC) is seeking to recruit an Operations Support Manager. The successful candidate will be joining the Institute’s Operations Team, which supports three Research Centres in the Arts and Humanities.
The Institute for Creative Cultures (ICC) was launched in January 2021 with the ambitious agenda of helping the 21st society to respond to the major challenges of our times (i.e., climate breakdown, political polarisation, surveillance capitalism, mass-migration, threats to public health posed by novel viruses) by radically reshaping current research and policy agendas. To do this, the Institute brings together leading academics across the Arts and Humanities (e.g., media studies, dance research, art history, art, design and linguistics) as well as activists and artists with trailblazing research and practice that contribute to the key issues of our times.
The Institute is constituted by three Research Centres:
- The Centre for Dance Research, which specialises in an inclusive approach to diverse forms of artistic research in dance supported by new approaches to documentation, analysis and augmentation of choreographic creativity. C-DaRe is interested in dialogues across live and digital dance, and the embodied knowledge of the dance artist.
- The Centre for Postdigital Cultures, which takes an innovative stance in exploring (post)digital phenomena. The CPC shifts attention from “the digital”, to the various overlapping processes and infrastructures that shape and organise the digital, and that the digital helps to shape and organise in turn. As such, it investigates such enmeshed digital models of culture and society for the 21st century “postdigital” world.
- The Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities, which examines how the arts help us process the past and live well in the present. The Centre’s community of researchers explores historical, social and political dimensions of cultural production through academic and practice-based research. Its researchers employ diverse methods, practices and critical theories to explore and exploit the value of creativity in how we understand, connect and transform communities, enrich individual lives and, in doing so, create better futures.
We are seeking a business-minded and dynamic Operations Support Manager who will support the Institute’s Research Operations. Reporting to and supporting the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations leading a team of three Operations Administrators. The possibility for secondment will be considered.
As one of Coventry’s biggest employers we will provide an excellent benefits package and a personal and professional development programme that will help you to achieve your aspirations.
