Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues at in our Manufacturing Facility.
In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
We’re looking for a talented and driven Operations Support Coordinator. The successful candidate will work across all business units at our Goole Facility to deliver a crucial and consistently high standard of customer service; and work together with the Operations Support Manager to achieve the day-to-day business requirements and ensure that all non-operational activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
As a new site, with great potential for short, medium and long term growth, there will be a variety of projects and increased operations that will require a great deal of initiative and innovation to ensure that our operational outputs are fully supported. Therefore, a proactive hands-on approach to work is required and experience of a client-facing service role. The ability to think on your feet and make sound and considered decisions would be welcomed. Great planning, creative thinking, organising and multitasking skills, along with excellent written and communication skills are an advantage.
This role will require a great deal of awareness and interaction with senior stakeholders, the general workforce and local community therefore a flexible approach to delivery is expected.
To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Evidence of initiating and support CSR activities with community stakeholders
It would also be helpful to have experience of the following:
- An understanding of Manufacturing Operations
- Previous experience of working within a Matrix Organisation
- Strong Time Management and Planning skills
