Showsec has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to be responsible for the efficient and effective running of venues, including the management of staff in compliance with company protocols, legislation and agreed processes across the West Midlands.
The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering excellent service and be committed to enhancing the company’s proud reputation for being a market-leading specialist in Crowd Management and Event Security to create safe event environments. Travel within the area is required to attend client and operational meetings.
You will also be enrolled on the company’s unique 9-12 -month Management Development Programme (MDP) with bespoke, industry-leading training in crowd safety management.
What you will be doing
- Ensure the high-quality delivery of operations, attending and managing events in consultation with your line manager
- Effectively manage operational expectation, including liaison with agreed clients
- Manage the operational staff ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner
- Motivate and develop the casual workforce in line with company objectives
- Manage your own operational and administrative workload in consultation with your manager
- Comply with all company policies and procedures relating to the role including laws and regulatory influences
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times including the effective use of communication, oral and written, and observe high levels of confidentiality
- Respond to internal and external communication in a timely manner

- Salary of £ 28,355.00 per annum
- 2100 hours per annum (40 hours per week with evening and weekend work)

What we need from you
- You will hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
- Experience in operational supervision/management within the security, crowd management or event industries
- A full driving licence is essential as this exciting role requires travel
- Strong people management skills, to coach and motivate casual workers
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills at all levels with the ability to build upon exciting client relationships
- Strong administration skills in order to provide key reports
- Computer literate and competent at using Microsoft Office
