About the Role

Base Location: Inverness

Salary: £30,273 - £35,194 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As part of the Logistics team, help control materials and equipment stocks used by Operations Team Managers and their staff based at the Fanellan storage facility near Beauly. If required, arranges delivery of items direct to site to help support effective time working and improve stock utilisation. Tasks also include, inspections associated with Ladders, Harnesses, Lifting Tackle and Portable Instruments. Co-ordinates and tests transformer oil in readiness for use by the Operations teams. Ensures compliance with all H&S legislation and that Facilities Management for warehouse is maintained.

The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Resource Controller are:

  • Requisitions, controls and arranges collection/delivery of materials for Operations teams in accordance with procedures and local requirements.
  • Assist the Transmission Operations team to control material and equipment stock to improve stock utilisation. You will co-ordinate activities within the Operations Teams for inspections; prepare equipment and assist external auditors during inspections whilst updating databases and programme next inspections as per LOLER requirements, policies & procedures. You will maintain register of COSHH substances and ensure task Risk Assessments are current and reviewed on a regular basis
  • Preparation of electrical test equipment and instruments for calibration & repair. In addition, you will identify the need for and organise all aspects of inspection process with accredited external services providers.
  • Takes action to resolve material shortages and arranges delivery of urgently required items direct to site as necessary.
  • Liaise with the FM department and Operations Civil team to ensure the warehouse building and storeyard are maintained and meet regulatory requirements.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Appreciation of the range of materials and equipment used within the Transmission Business.
  • Understanding of Company systems for materials and facilities management.
  • A good understanding of H&S Legislation including but not limited to LOLER/PUWER and COSHH regulations.
  • This role will be IT driven so a sound knowledge and proven use of all Microsoft Packages is essential.
  • Suitably trained in use of forklift and telehandler.
