About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer at Wavemaker UK, the Head of Operations and Delivery plays a critical role in the delivery of projects across the organization.
We are looking for someone who understands what it takes to lead, motivate and inspire a team of people to do great things.
You will need to be super-organized and able to expertly manage stakeholders to get things done!.
In this role, you will:
Vision Alignment:
- Work closely with senior management to understand the agency's vision and how it aligns with a portfolio of operational, strategic and transformational projects.
- Translate these into actionable project goals to ensure that all projects within the PMO align with the broader strategic direction of the organization.
Strategic Portfolio / Programme / Project (PPP) Delivery:
- Be accountable for the successful delivery of the strategic PPPs and initiatives, proactively engaging multiple teams and stakeholders to support the vision of Wavemaker - to create unrivalled work that moves people and has a positive impact in the world.
- Align with the GroupM Transformation team to ensure that the strategic projects gain the right support and ladder up to the overall operational excellence & delivery framework.
- Have a strong aptitude for understanding and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive strategic initiatives and deliver impactful outcomes.
Team Leadership:
- You will lead the Project Management / delivery department to deliver complex multi-platform media, content, data & tech projects, ensuring that they are resourced accordingly and stay on track, on budget to the required quality, measured through project KPIs and stakeholder feedback.
- Manage and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Provide visible and effective leadership, ensuring that continuous improvement of project management processes and standards within the department, driving innovation and introducing the latest ideas and learnings from professional bodies and academic research.
Resource Allocation:
- Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective project execution. Collaborate with other departments to identify and secure necessary resources to support project implementation.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish and maintain project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Implement performance monitoring systems to track project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and develop mitigation strategies. Regularly report project status and key metrics to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Technical Skills
You will have developed a broad range of technical Project Management skills and knowledge of core project management methods for many scenarios.
