At an exciting point for this progressive multi-channel retail business, female-founded brand and engaged community, the Retail & Operations Manager ( ROM ) will be ultimately responsible for end-to-end sales, incl. all related processes, at the physical locations where the company operates as well as globally online and via the proposed network of stockists.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the ROM will be an advocate for The Pantry Underwear and The Pantry Bridalwear offerings. With a role that spans the Islington flagship, Cambridgeshire-based dual store concept, and growing online store, the ROM will oversee the delivery of the retail proposition to the London female community and beyond.
The hours are 38 hours per week and this will include some weekend days. We’re looking for someone to join us as soon as possible.

Your responsibilities will be to:
- Team management - management of Sales & Operations teams with a dotted line to Marketing and Business Development also ( presently x8 permanent staff members & 2x casual staff members ) with a structured approach via the appraisals programme, workflow planners and rota.
- Retail Direction - shop floor leadership as a qualified bra fitter and champion of the coveted customer experience ( over x400 5* reviews via Google June ’23 ) - with support offered through senior management team.
- Customer Engagement - overseeing all customer engagement, including appointments ( both B2C and B2B ), customer & brand events, in-store partnerships / sales mechanics and working to improve outcomes and efficiencies wherever possible.
- Retail Operations - responsibility for day-to-day retail operations incl. supplies, maintenance of the working environment and related team workflows. Cover of customer services on 'off days' and during annual leave, incl. website order fulfilment.
- Stock Flow - inventory management for the company spanning retail stock, balancing levels to ensure all sales opportunities are maximised and ensuring continuity buying meets demand, online stock levels and own brand production and samples availability.
- Merchandising - in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing teams, visual merchandising of physical spaces and the online storefront, as well as input into marketing campaign planning and content capture.
- Range Development - contributing to product collections incl. buying input and brand relationship administration.
- Partnerships - building referrals relationships e.g. bridal, maternity, womenswear brands alongside the Business Development Manager – new business development ( incl. wholesale ) objectives as brand representative to external partners.
- Ecommerce maintenance - online sales and marketing channels maintenance + ongoing development input in collaboration with the Operations & Marketing teams.
- Budgeting & finance - forward planning including budgeting of retail sales & finance / purchasing operations moving forwards e.g. implementation of improved software, opening of additional stores and launches of new product collections in collaboration with Managing Director.
- Administration - resposible for team managerment admin including rota, holiday requests, appraisals and running of company meetings.
Requirements:
- Organised > the role ranges from stock management to staff workload allocation to visual merchandising, events planning and project management.
- Self-starter > many projects will require leadership by the successful candidate, but there is always ample support and collaboration amongst the team.
- Senior sales experience > the customer is key and we are always looking to evolve the offering to the community; the ROM is expected to contribute creatively to this.

- Skills required to Lead (by example)> the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership in processes and delivering against targets / objectives.
- Proficient in Excel
