About the role
What will I be doing?
The role will be based from our Evercreech depot near Shepton Mallett.
You will be responsible for managing the household waste collection operations in the area on behalf of our client, Somerset Waste Partnership.
Key elements of the role will include:
- Managing a complex refuse and kerbside recycling operation to ensure the contractual service provisions are met
- Responsible for the Health and Safety performance of the depot
- Management of cost base to ensure delivery of financial targets
What are the requirements?
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels internally and externally. Working as part of a strong team, you will have experience of financial reporting, managing budgets and producing / developing business plans and you should have experience of managing a large municipal operation.
You will also require:
- A Certificate in professional competence in road transport operation.
- An IOSH managing safely qualification.
- A certificate of technical competence in waste management.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate and ability to lead and develop a diverse team of managers, supervisors and site staff, with different skills and experience, equally able to work in and contribute to a management team
