Operations Manager:
An exciting opportunity has risen in our expanding business for a professional, motivated individual with a positive attitude to lead, develop and motivate our dynamic Transport Department to support and manage the day to day running operations of the business.
The role is diverse with responsibilities ranging from:
· Overseeing the complete Transport Operations, to include; Planning routes throughout UK, Ireland, Europe and Internationally as per customer orders,
· Briefing & Debriefing Drivers; Ensuring they get correct and full information for deliveries / collections,
· Lead and develop transport planning team by example in daily operations as per company policies and procedures,
· Managing drivers, yard operatives, mechanics and other staff,
· Liaising with Customers, Suppliers & Customs personal via email and telephone,
· Helping to manage email enquiries, sending and receiving information from Customers, Suppliers & Drivers,
· Accepting and dealing with customers’ orders, tracking orders and providing customers with updates, Organising customs for customers’ orders,
· Problem solving, Reducing fuel and overhead costs and maximising drivers’ hours,
· Helping the team with any ad-hoc duties and tasks,
· Adhering to Health and Safety Practices & Drivers Hours Regulations,
· Organising Sub-contractors, Booking Ferries and recording shipments,
· Ensuing POD’s, CMRS and all paperwork within Transport Office is correct,
· Preforming and assisting with any other functions as determined by senior management.
About the Applicant:
Desirable Skills;
· An interest / knowledge in the Transport Sector,
· CPC International Holder,
· Knowledge or experience with Customs,
Essential Skills;
· 2-3Years+ Experience established in a Transport Management environment role,
· Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland, UK & Europe,
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
· Competent use of MS Office - particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook,
· Organisational skills, incl; Good time keeping and prioritizing tasks,
· High attention to detail, professional & approachable,
· Can demonstrate Leadership and work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative and able to assist recruitment and train new staff,
· Business management skills with a willingness to support the company and values,
· Can work under pressure to meet deadlines,
· Willing to adapt to changing situations and quick to make decisions,
· Positive can-do attitude, reliable and Hard working.
Hours of Work is 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays as required.
