Role Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will play a key role in the success of our landscaping team as the Operations Manager. This is a permanent full-time position with profit sharing potential, extended health benefits, RRSP matching.
Responsibilities
· Supervise, coordinate and manage daily operations.
· Lead/manage a dynamic team including Horticulturists, Director of Sales and Lead Foreman, Supply & Logistics Manager and Labourers.
· Liaise with clients, project managers and subcontractors to resolve issues or concerns and attend meetings as required.
· Assist with other landscape construction or landscape maintenance crews.
· Facilitate safety meetings, site planning meetings as required.
· Participates in bid reviews.
· Communicate daily progress, job timelines, issue , to management team.
· Coordinate schedule and resources for the salting/snow removal season.
· Coordinate the delivery of materials to job sites.
· Drives work vehicles and trailers as applicable to and from sites.
Skills and Abilities
· Hire, supervise/manage staff; perform performance reviews and coach/mentor staff.
· Read plans, blueprints and understand scope of job.
· Price and provide estimates.
· Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete all scopes of construction and landscaping contracts.
· High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
· Detailed oriented and excellent time management skills.
· Service oriented and self motivated.
· Dedicated, with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately.
· Ability to change priorities and be adaptable.
· Strategic thinking and problem resolution skills.
· Communicates effectively both written and verbal.
· Works well independently and with a team.
Education and Experience
· At least 10-15 years experience in operations management.
· Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clean driving record.
· Proven experience in managing various types and complexities of all phases of a project.
