Production & Operations Manager
Photocentric Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturer based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the USA. Three times Queens Award winners, we design and manufacture our own 3D printers, resins and craft products and export all over the world. We have embarked on some exciting business partnerships which have rapidly changed the direction of our business. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a talented and highly driven Production Manager to join our management team based at our Peterborough site.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a team of managers and supervisors across multiple manufacturing disciplines to ensure the successful operation of our sites in the UK and US. Your key priority will be ensuring that we meet our customers’ expectations by producing excellent craft and 3D products through effective execution.
Responsibilities of our Production & Operations Manager include:
- Full accountability, leadership and management of all production functions in the business for UK and US to ensure production capacity meets customer demands within the agreed timeframe.
- Embracing LEAN practices and drive continuous improvement at all times.
- Implementing a Quality culture, delivering products that exceed customer expectations as necessary.
- Promoting a culture of H&S ownership amongst colleagues, ensure compliance with current HSE standards at all times.
- Revising SOPs, ensure they are adhered to, and training documents are signed off by staff.
- Meeting requirements of ISO and other accreditations.
- Reducing waste in the production process.
- Being accountable for budgets within each business unit. Managing labour costs.
- Providing regular reports to the management team to demonstrate performance and output.
- Creating innovative processes to improve efficiency.
- Assisting on projects to introduce automation and new machines and improve production processes by coming up with innovative ideas.
- Creating and executing daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
- Managing your Team using standard business tools, objectives, EPR’s, and PDP’s
Experience and skills required for our Production & Operations Manager:
- Extensive expertise having operated at management level in a similar role as a production manager or operations manager
- Hardworking and ambitious production manager with the desire to want to succeed
- Strong understanding of finance and budgets with the ability to general reports and statistics/data
- Experienced at improving production processes by coming up with innovative ideas to demonstrate expert continuous improvement
- Influential leader
- Highly commercial
- Extensive knowledge and experience of implementing SOP’s, KPI’s, Quality and Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety, Engineering, ILM, Kaizen, 6 Sigma, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Automation
