The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Operations Excellence Manager to join our Myra Falls Mine in Campbell River, BC. This is a permanent position.
The Manager, Operations Excellence is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the Continuous Improvement portfolio. As a Continuous Improvement champion, this individual will be responsible for defining and evolving the operations excellence mindset across the organization. They will effectively create teams that work and perform in alignment with Myra Falls Mine principles and attributes. In this position, you will:
· Lead the development, communication, and implementation of enterprise-wide operations excellence capability that will drive a culture of continuous improvement to meet intended business outcomes.
· Manage multiple Improvement initiatives in support of strategic and business objectives. This includes the implementation of Lean Principles. The initiatives may range from small rapid improvements to large-scale Lean transformations.
· Coach and lead a broad range of stakeholders and internal process team to achieve Continuous Improvement outcomes.
· Analyze business processes to determine existing performance in terms of service, cost, and quality. This consists of information gathering through various methods including interviews, workshops, and observations.
· Navigate complex and ambiguous situations with numerous stakeholders and diverging interests to drive process change.
· Manage a small team by coordinating activities and coaching team member(s), ensuring that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided.
· Document Operations Excellence best practices and assist in their deployment across divisions.
· Assist in the development and delivery of Operations Excellence training.
· Act as a champion and thought leader in Operations excellence and innovation within the organization.
About You
· Education:
· Undergraduate degree in business administration or other related field (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
· Project management certifications or experience in managing multiple priorities (e.g., PMP).
· Master’s degree or working towards (preferred).
· Experience:
· 10+ years of experience managing large-scale process improvement initiatives in operating environment
· Experience operating in a matrix reporting structure, with multiple stakeholders and leaders.
· Demonstrated experience contributing to strategic direction of the function.
· The ability to influence others, create alignment, generate commitment to goals and inspire others to action while managing diverse stakeholder groups and multiple change initiatives.
· Strong ability to lead by demonstrating desired values, behaviors, and work practices.
· Able to take the bigger picture and break it down into manageable progressive steps to ensure progress is made on multiple projects. Ability to collaborate with multiple teams to set programs, operational goals and plan in keeping with the strategic direction of the function.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, communicates clearly, with purpose, and adapts communication style appropriately to suit audience.
