Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the Operations team in the UK.
- Promote (and lead by example) a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Working closely with the Managing Director to drive a strong team culture that focuses on delivering the ultimate customer experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of courier and cross border operations and be able to bring best practice models to the Linex operation to drive efficiency and improved accuracy.
- Demonstrate a hands on approach with the ability to be flexible and adapt in relation to all areas within the operation
- To assist in the design and implementation of local and more strategic logistics solutions to drive growth across all regions within the Linex network.
- Driving organisational change across the UK team / actively involved in recruitment of new experienced team members who will bring new talent and insights to broaden the current team’s experience.
- Developing and supporting local and strategic supply chain solutions for clients
- Innovating logistics solutions that drive the global strategy and assist in reaching commercial targets.
- Supporting in sales proposition to prospective and incumbent customers – building relationships with our key customers to ensure full engagement across the Linex business.
- Ensuring on time delivery of all projects.
- Providing best practice advice, insight and/or expertise to teams across the global network.
- Identifying and aligning solutions to business needs and IT strategy
- Actively encouraging team personal development and driving personal growth.
- Gaining alignment and support to implement solutions across the core functional areas of the business such as finance, operations, sales, and IT.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets and exceeds agreed objectives, delivers best practice results, and demonstrates continuous improvement.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
- Ensure all internal and external KPI’s are met.
- Provide Inspired leadership for the organisation
Required recent industry knowledge and experience in relation to the following customs accreditations/practices:
- AEO (Authorised Economic Operator)
- Regulated Agent - CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) knowledge
- MOU (Memorandum of Understanding): Low-Value Bulk Export License/LVBI (Birds) knowledge
- Ensuring all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitored complying with relevant law and regulation.
Essential Experience:
- Strong communicator with experience in managing a diverse team of 10+ employees.
- Smooth running of a day-to-day operation
- Outstanding communication, commercial, presentation, numerical and analytical skills
- Flexibility to work at weekends when required for business purposes.
Desirable Experience:
- ETSF/ITSF (External Temporary Storage Facility) (Internal Temporary Storage Facility) knowledge
