Main Purpose of Role
To hold responsibility for the operations functions of the business ensuring the organisation runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
· Reporting to the Head of Operations.
· Overseeing all operational activities for the organization.
· To work closely with the Manufacturing Planning & Fabrication Production Managers, to deliver the workload, and department objectives. This can include:
o Identifying capacity constraints & proposing solutions
o Resource co-ordination.
o Overtime authorisation
· To work closely with the Commercial & Engineering teams, understand their requirements for operations services, devise a capacity planning tool to accommodate planned & expected demands, highlight potential capacity/resource issues.
· Identifying opportunities to streamline business processes and systems.
· Defining performance management KPI’s to monitor operational success against objectives.
· Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement.
· Implementing lean management procedures to minimize stock holding and free up working capital.
· Researching opportunities for cost savings across the business.
· Staying up to date with technological changes within the industry.
· Minimizing operation expenditure within the business wherever possible.
· Developing leadership and coaching programmes to increase employee effectiveness.
· Compliance with all departmental H&S requirements
· Compliance, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
· Establish a full programme of documented inspections, audits and checks for shop floor equipment to include Identifying the needs for repairs, renovations, or replacement.
· Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
Key Skills Requirements
· Commercial awareness with an eye for seeing business improvement opportunities.
· Familiar with 5axis machining centres and related processes of manufacture.
· Familiar with welding/fabrication & processes of manufacture.
· Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to communicate complex business ideas.
· Previous experience working for a company within the Manufacturing & Fabrication industry or from a similar business.
· Highly motivated with a passion for driving operational business change

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
