OPERATIONS MANAGER / OKEHAMPTON - PERMANENT VACANCY

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment business, are currently recruiting an Operations Manager for a rapidly growing family business in Okehampton, Devon.
The successful candidate will run a busy production and transport department, reporting to the General Manager and be tasked with ensuring the Operations of the business are maintained and continuously improved.
We are looking for candidate with the energy and willingness to adapt to a fast passed environment with three Supervisors and three Team Leaders reporting directly into this role with responsibility for an over all work force of 50 plus employees across a night shift, two factories on a day shift and drivers across three site.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Maintain constant communication with managers, staff and relevant suppliers to ensure propert operations of the company
Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols
Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company's internal capacity
Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget
Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as required
Close relationships with accounts payable
Maintain health and safety across the production and transport departments
Lead, motivate and support a large team within a time sensitive and demanding environment including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution
Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors and deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure all areas remain compliant with a weight towards the transport side of the business.
Keep costs on track and within budget
Ensure the legal compliance within the transport sector of the business.
About you:
- 2 or more years in an Operations Management role
Strong skill set in budget control and development
Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintain organisational control of operations department and customer service
Proficiency in conflict management and negotiation
Transport management CPC qualification
Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications
Strong IT skills inclyding Word, Excel and transport driven tools
Ongoing and available training is also available for aspects of the role including any refresher training that maybe required.
