Junior Operations Manager

Harbourside Organix Inc. is one of our 4 composting facilities across Canada and provides the latest technology to meet the waste management challenges of Hamilton, ON.

Junior Operations Manager Profile:
We are seeking a Junior Operations Manager to collaborate with our General Manager. The Notable day- to-day activities of the Junior Operations Manager will include but not limited to collaborative participation and learning the following:
- Overseeing shift production activities including shredding, screening, process control and QA/QC.
- Collecting Samples.
- Troubleshooting technical issues with facility operations including PLC system and SCADA control.
- Actively participating in health and safety programs and initiatives at a leadership level.
- Preparing weekly activity reports.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Post- Secondary and/ or Technical Training.
- Completion of a recognized training program including Hazard awareness, Health & Safety, and equipment safety training.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and SCADA control is considered an asset.
- Education or experience in Environmental, Waste Management and/or Compost is considered an asset.
- CRSP, NCSO or other applicable recognized H&S Certification(s).
- 3-5 years’ of related experience in a proven leadership role.

- Exceptional time management, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written, oral and Electronic) skills.
- Strong computer skills with ability to learn new software systems.
Working Conditions:
- Hours will be 44 regular hours.
- Individual is required to work daily in Composting production areas indoors and outdoors (all seasons) and administration environments.
- Odorous environment.
- Shared on-call responsibilities.

Salary: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
